| Description |
The house has two good sized bedrooms, and one smaller bedroom. The largest has a bay and overlooks the road, as does the smallest. The bedroom at the rear of the property overlooks a 200ft garden, with a view mostly of trees into the distance, as the nearest house directly opposite is several hundred metres away. A stunning view for such a central location.
The bathroom suite is new, with a fashionable white colour scheme, a shower/bath with a curved glass shower screen and power shower. It also has a natural wood ceiling. The landing leads down a short and a long staircase with natural wood banister rails and posts with a clear varnish, showing the beauty of the natural wood.
The ground floor has a moderately sized hall with which leads to the kitchen and through lounge. The front of the lounge has a bay and there is an attractive arch between the original front and back rooms. The back part of the lounge has a French door leading into the garden. There are also chimney breasts and fireplace. The kitchen is long and light with a big window overlooking the garden, and two windows to the side and a natural wood ceiling.
Outside, to the front there is a small grassed garden and drive with a featheredge wooden fence and a concrete drive. Through gates, this leads to the rear of the house where there is a garage and a 200ft garden with mature trees around the borders and a hedge to the neighbour on the right. Diagonally, one can partially see the backs of other houses a couple of hundred metres away, but directly opposite, one can only see trees as the nearest house is some 800m away.
In terms of the area, it is one of the more sought after in Cambridge, Addenbrookes hospital is a couple of miles away and there are good local schools and services. Within a mile there are two parks, one at Cherryhinton Hall where the annual Cambridge Folk Festival is held, and another (park) in the opposite direction. Cambridge train station is about a mile and a half away, and it takes about 10 minutes to cycle in to the market square.
Cambridge (for people who have never visited) is arguably the most attractive city in the UK, with the prestige of the university, the colleges, punting on the river Cam, Granchester meadows and the various parks and commons. The economy is vibrant with many hi-tech industries, tourism and retail complexes. |
