    THE SITUATION
    Seven Ash is a small hamlet on the A.358, about 8 miles from Taunton, County Town of Somerset and some 6.5 miles from Williton. It lies on the fringe of the Parish of Combe Florey, at the foot of the Quantock Hills (to the front) and with the Brendon Hills to the rear.- It is 3.5 miles from the large village of Bishops Lydeard, which can offer most of one's daily needs and is also the home of The West Somerset Railway.

    THE CONSTRUCTION
    The principal structure is of cavity brickwork and the cavities were insulated about four years ago. The ground floor rooms have false ceilings and the floor above is of concrete beam construction. A recent first floor extension on the South side is of heavily insulated timber framed construction carried on a steel ring beam. The roof of the extension incorporates two very efficient solar panels, heating water to one of the two hot water cylinders in the property. Both cylinders have supplementary immersion heaters and the original one is also heated by the LPG Boiler. The latter also provides the central heating and is supplied from a 20001. LPG Tank underground.
