A 4 bedroomed, detached, bungalow in a lochside location near the village of Struan on the Isle of Skye.It is conveniently situated 10 miles from the island capital of Portree.Struan village has a shop, primary school, garage and restaurant. The nearest doctor's surgery is either at Carbost or Dunvegan.
The house was originally a croft cottage built in 1911.

It has been completely gutted and refurbished with a dampcourse, new floors, timbers and roof. An extension was built on the back to house bedrooms and dining room, thus keeping the front exterior of the house almost as the original cottage.

The roof space and interior walls are all insulated. Heating is by oil fired rayburn cooker in the kitchen and supplemented with a Villager multifuel stove in the living room. All windows ar mahogany double glazed units. There is a large garden area overlooking the loch and almost 4 acres of freehold land adjacent to the property. Water is from a private supply (no water rates) and drainage is to a septic tank. Mains electricity is connected together with a BT landline and satellite TV.

The property is approached by a drive and there is external parking for up to 3 cars. There is a substantial double workshop/garage adjacent to the walled
garden, with an electricity supply and an independent consumer unit.
    All rooms have sea views.

The Rayburn stove heats all hot water and has hob and top and bottom ovens. There is also an electric hob. There is plumbing for a washing machine and space for a fridge freezer. The front window faces the loch and the rear window faces the garden. There is an immersion housed in a cupboard to the left of the Rayburn.

BATHROOM. 1.9m x 2m with 3 piece suite in pale grey. Tiled floor.Shower over bath with shower screen. Opaque window to front of the property.

DINING ROOM. 3.1m x 2.75m.Window faces to the south. Consumer unit is enclosed within a built in display unit with shelves.

BEDROOMS 3 and 4. 3.1m x 2m. Both are single rooms with built in beds with cupboard and drawer units beneath the beds. There is also a fitted wardrobe with cupboard above and a 2 drawer unit below.A desk unit has also been built in and there are shelves on two walls.Excellent utilisation of space with only a mattress in each room required. All built in furniture in pine.

All internal doors and fitted shelves and units are in quality pine.

The front door leads a small hall with a glass panelled door. From here the main hall runs the length of the extension of the property.

There are two hall cupboards with additional storage space.

The land adjacent to the property is mainly on the Sligachan side of the house and is at present unused, however there are many uses this could be put to with appropriate planning permissions.

This property is ideal for a growing family,or as a bed and breakfast establishment. The internal arrangement is flexible and could be easily altered or extended if required but it has seen our family of two girls grow from primary school age to adulthood. The island now has a toll free bridge which makes travel to the mainland quicker with only a 2-2.5 hour drive to the city of Inverness .

The views across the loch are beautiful and Struan jetty can be seen from the garden. The Cuillin mountains are but a short 5 mile drive from the property. The only secondary school on the island is in the capital of Portree and transport is provided to and from the school.

This location provides you with rural living,a peaceful lifestyle,a great place to retire or to bring up children in safety .
