Built in 1837, 2 Tyas Cottages is one of four cottages which until 1903 previously formed the village pub 'The Queen's Head'.

Situated in the peaceful and picturesque semi rural area of East Tilbury Village the cottage is on a quiet no through road at the end of which is Coalhouse Fort museum and park. The cottage is surrounded on 3 sides by farmland and the Thames River runs adjacent to this land and is a short walk away.

There are many riverside walks including the Two Forts walk literally on your doorstep. There is a pub one minute's walk away from the cottage which serves a range of food and there is also a Co-op, pharmacy, post office, school, GP surgery and various takeaways within 2 minutes drive, 10 minutes walk in the nearby town of East Tilbury.
